Basics of Exercise

Learn the benefits of exercising, setting various goals and guidelines to prevent chronic disease.

MyPyramid

Choose the foods and amounts that are right for you by receiving a detailed assessment of your food intake and physical activity level.  Computer based class. 

Basics of Nutrition

Determine if you are meeting your nutrition needs by learning about nutrients, metabolism, energy and estimating your calorie needs. 

Basics of Resistance Training

Become familiar with free weight exercises, selectorized resistance training machines and body weight resistance exercises.  Understand the basic techniques and physiological changes that occur in the body as a result of resistance training.

Live Well, Laugh Longer

This class meets once a week for 12 weeks and focuses on new and old weight management techniques including calories, stress, emotional eating, the food guide pyramid and much more!

Operation Fit Kids

Making health and fitness fun!  Kids learn basic nutrition and health information along with doing fun fitness activities. 

Speed & Agility Camp

A summer program focusing on the development of sport specific skills that will enhance athletes’ speed, agility and quickness. 

Eat Smart, Exercise Right

Diet and exercise plans custom designed by having an individualized nutrition assessment and an individualized exercise assessment.  Weekly group meetings offer direction, information and support.

Common Sense Self Defense

Learn to defend yourself against physical attack.  Different types of escapes, locks, controls and mind changers are presented in this three hour class.

Build Your Bones

A program designed to educate individuals about osteoporosis.  Prevention, treatment, and risk factors are discussed along with weight bearing activity to promote strong bones.

Dining with Diabetes

An educational program that teaches individuals with diabetes and their families about better ways to prepare food that may improve their diabetes management.  Participants also learn how physical activity can improve general health and short term blood glucose control.

Kidney Disease Patient Education

Program developed to aid individuals in slowing the progression of renal failure or delaying the onset of dialysis by educating about low protein intake.

Weight Management Support Group

A support group for individuals trying to maintain or lose weight. The group meets every 3rd Thursday for weigh-ins, education and encouragement.  

Pilates

Develop optimal muscular strength, flexibility and endurance without risking injury or building muscle bulk.  Pilates focuses on core stability, pelvic and shoulder girdle stabilization, neutral alignment and breathing while restoring the nautral curves of the spine, relieving tension and enhancing self confidence.  The result is a balanced and aligned body that looks fit and moves with ease.
